The first outlet was opened in the Chicagoland Market!

Grout Doctor Franchises were sold in California and Arizona. After serious health challenges, Mr. Baity decided to stop franchising and opted to begin offering an independent contractor program through Developers.
 January 1992
The Grout Doctor® was founded by James Baity of Sacramento, California. He became aware of the strong need for this specialized service before he retired from owning and operating a large successful tile contracting business. He wrote the book, “How to get the Gold out of Grout” and designed a system to teach grout repair and maintenance to someone from any background or walk of life!
