Why I Started The Grout Doctor of Scottsdale & Paradise Valley
In 2026, I joined the Grout Doctor. Before that, I spent 15 years in process engineering and customer quality — industries where the wrong product choice or a missed root cause has real consequences. Along the way I’ve also managed rental properties across multiple markets, and I kept seeing the same story: owners assuming a surface problem is a structural problem, ready to spend $20,000 on a full tear-out when the actual fix is a fraction of that.
That’s what drew me to the Grout Doctor. The tile is almost never the problem — it’s built to last a lifetime and more. It’s usually that the grout, caulk, sealer, or all three, failed. Three small problems people assume are one big, expensive one. The Grout Doctor has specialized cleaners, professional-grade sealers, and color systems engineered for what actually fails in tile and stone — not the all-purpose chemicals at your local hardware store.

We diagnose before we quote. Every estimate starts with a real look at the surface — in person, or via photo for a preliminary quote — not a square-footage number from a phone call. We check whether the underlying tile is sound, whether the substrate behind it feels stable, and whether we’re seeing isolated grout failure or systemic failure. That diagnosis is what determines whether you need a small spot repair or a full regrout — there’s a big difference, and we’ll be straight about which one you actually need.
We use the right product, not the convenient one. Most failed grout and stone jobs are failed product choices. We use specialized cleaners, professional-grade sealers, and color systems engineered for what actually fails in tile and stone — not the all-purpose chemicals at the hardware store.

Both. The Grout Doctor® is a national network of locally owned franchises — we’re the Scottsdale / Paradise Valley owner-operated location, fully responsible for our own crew, schedule, pricing, and quality. The national network gives us access to professional-grade products and training, but the person on your job, on the phone, and on the invoice is local.
How long have you been in business?
The Grout Doctor has been serving Scottsdale and Paradise Valley since 2001. Jeff Rottman took over the location in 2026.
Do you do the work yourself or send a crew?
Jeff handles the operations and problem solving while sending our highly experienced crew to provide top quality service.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes — Arizona ROC License #248308 and $2M in general liability insurance. We can provide a Certificate of Insurance to you, your property manager, or your HOA before the job starts.
Do you take a deposit?
No. No deposits necessary.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, check, all major credit cards, and ACH. Commercial accounts can be invoiced with Net 30 terms.
Do you work in occupied homes?
Yes — most of our residential jobs are. We work in zones so families can stay in the home during the work, and most jobs are done in a day.
Do you offer commercial accounts?
Yes — restaurants, hotels, HOAs, medical offices, and multi-family properties. We schedule around your operating hours.
